Brigham Young University BYU's Web usage policy is governed not only by the necessity of keeping out distracting Web content, but also by the religious foundation of the university. Every student must sign and comply with the university and church's Honor Code. To facilitate adherence to the code, and also to create a more positive work environment for university staff, BYU decided early on to enforce policy through technology. View HTML Page
Connecticut Education Network The state of Connecticut IT department's first experience with Bess was when officials originally put it in place at several vocational technical high schools. That experience showed them the advantages Bess had over other filtering products. So when Sheri DeVaux and her IT team were charged with building the Connecticut Education Network (a huge undertaking), choosing a filtering product was easy. "Bess works out really well for us," says DeVaux. View HTML Page

Sylacauga City School District Sylacauga's students, at all grade levels, have made excellent use of the Internet as a learning tool. But with that resource come responsibilities. "We had no clue as to what our students were looking at." The district's Web usage policy set out guidelines as to what the Internet could be used for, but teachers soon discovered that enforcing that policy could not be done simply by looking over students' shoulders. Technology would have to be used. Enter Bess® - Sylacauga checked with all of the other schools in the area, and found that Bess is the most highly recommended and most often used by neighboring schools throughout the state. Sylacauga deployed Bess Web filtering from Secure Computing in all the district's schools. View HTML Page
